Well that’s one way of doing a first blog post ;-). Welcome to my new website, by the way.
Thanks to the wonder that is Den of Geek editor, Rosie Fletcher, I am unbelievable chuffed to be talking about all things Stephen King’s IT at FrightFest’s free From Page to Scream panel on Sunday 25th August 2019 at 1pm at the Prince Charles Cinema!
London-based FrightFest is celebrating 20 years as the UK’s top horror festival. The From Page to Scream panel is horror industry experts talking about the differences between types of adaptations, what makes good adaptations, the challenges of adapting materials….you name it. I’ll be talking about my forthcoming book on Stephen King’s IT (including the book, audiobooks, miniseries, films and games) as well as chipping in bits of the academic side here and there.
On a personal level, I confess I’m over the moon with this. I started out as a FrightFest intern doing mics and lights for the on-stage Q&As as well as editing the eMagazine and writing the Who’s Dead? section (yep, I did the obits! 😉 ). To be going back this year to talk about my first book is pretty damned cool. That Rosie is chairing is frankly cracking as she’s a total wonder and appreciates a huge variety of horror (and remembers Sunset Beach!). I’ll also be floating about as I’m covering the festival for Starburst again this year. Gimme a wave!
So yeah, Sunday 25th August at the Prince Charles Cinema from 1-2pm. Get your tickets, come and say ‘hi’ and I’ll try not to fansplode all over you.*
How do you get tickets? Tweet @DenofGeek the following:

*I will fansplode – I’m excited as hell and have been driving my flatmate bonkers for months about the new film!
